Software Upgrade Project: What’s the Latest?
The effort by the National Council to replace outdated financial, membership, and human resources software began in 2010 with the replacement of the payroll system used by local councils.
In January of this year, the fiscals software used by the National Council was successfully updated. For local councils, the fiscals implementation will begin with beta (test) councils in February, followed by a phased rollout of approximately 15 councils at a time from April through October.
This rollout will replace the current general ledger and accounts payable programs in ScoutNET, while adding additional features and functionality. Fundraising, membership, and HR software changes will be announced and implemented separately.
The new fiscals system will utilize the base of PeopleSoft Financials 9.1 and other features from nVision, Microsoft Excel, and Crystal Reports. User help and support will also be provided through the PeopleSoft User Productivity Kit.
