New Cub Scout Lesson Plans Introduced
Help deliver the promise with the new Alternative Cub Scout Lesson Plans Manual: Year B (please note: huge PDF file, will take a while to download). This follow-up manual to Year A consists of the traditional Cub Scout program and can be delivered by volunteers and program managers. The easy-to-use guide is suited for mixed-age packs/dens and guarantees rank advancement for each Cub Scout.
For more information, please call the Membership Impact Department at 972-580-2119.

what is the number of the manual?
Can it be ordered from National?
This is great, thanks for bringing out a second year. I know it is a lot of hard work to create. Once we have C,D. & E we can deliver Scouting for a full time a boy is in Scouting without any overlap of programming. That will be great!
Honestly, I think this concept of “lesson plan” shows a serious problem within the BSA. Cub Scouting has never been school, it isn’t school now, and it should never be school. It shouldn’t be taught. So there is absolutely no reason for terminology like lesson plans.
For folks who are new to Cub Scouting, this kind of guide is essential. Otherwise every Pack across the country is writing their own material, which is a complete waste of time since we all have the same goals. When I started I didn’t know a den from a pack from a troop I relied only the “A” plans for ideas. I’m glad you’re lucky enough to have all the ideas you need or the time to research them on your own. For the rest of this, it’s really quite helpful.
Is it possible to still obtain Year A?? If so, please provide link.
Thank you
Dave
How can I get a copy of Year A (pdf or any format)?
You can find Year A in both English and Spanish here: http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/Membership/DeliveryManual.aspx
I think its motivating to have materials available to provide to individuals that are just getting started & or have been in cubscouting for awhile. It gives a guideline to follow, instead of having boys & parents loose interest; due to lack of not having a program. One must remember that the BSA has its foundation based on the System & the Program. No,I do not think it is like school. Even though they are called lesson plans.Leaders need some place to go for info.
Your on the up in keeping us informed w/ideas & plans.
Afterall, parents & youth will keep in the program, only if there is fun & a knowledge base to folllow. Your doing a great job @ providing it to the Leaders & yet to be Leaders.
The enthusiasm & motivation comes from the presenter; not the material. Its up to the Leader!!!!!
Thank You for all the hard work of planning & preparation that goes into keeping us updated.
