2013 OA Lodge Matching Service Grant Applications Due Oct. 31
If your Order of the Arrow lodge plans a council camp or service center project during 2013, you can apply now for a 2013 OA Matching Service Grant. All lodges applying for the grant must have been a 2011 Quality Lodge and should not have received a grant from the OA during the last two years (2011 or 2012).
All 2013 Service Grant applications must be submitted by Oct. 31, 2012, and they must be signed by the Lodge Chief, Lodge Adviser, Council President and Scout Executive to be eligible for consideration.
All 2013 camp property or service center projects approved for funding must be completed by Oct. 31, 2013. The total cost of your proposed project should not exceed $20,000. The Order will provide up to one-half of the money for a service project with a $5,000 maximum amount awarded by the National OA Committee for any lodge project. The local lodge must also contribute at least 50 percent of the labor necessary to complete a grant-approved project. All lodges awarded these merit-based grants will be notified by Jan. 31, 2013.
The complete guidelines, including the 2013 OA Service Grant application, can be found online at www.oa-bsa.org/resources/forms/grantform-2013.pdf. If you have any questions in this regard, please feel free to contact Michael Thompson, vice chairman, National OA Committee, at Thompson1994@msn.com.
Since 1999, the National OA Committee has helped numerous camp and service center projects. If your lodge is eligible, please do not miss this potential funding opportunity, as the Order of the Arrow continues its rich history of servant leadership to local councils that began in 1915.
