Finance Impact e-Letter: Tools for Developing Your Fundraising Strategy
The March 1 issue of the Finance Impact Department’s e-Letter has been published and is available online.
While continued deliberation and input on changes to our membership standards will prove healthy and in the long-term interest of the movement, the public manner in which this debate has been inadvertently waged has been difficult for your fundraising operations at a critical time.
The bottom line is our work goes on and our fundraising must continue. The reasons our communities have supported Scouting for 103 years—our ability to help children develop self-confidence, leadership skills, and to learn and grow into productive adults in a safe environment—have not changed and will never change. We are optimistic we can say the same about their support, but we’ll have to ask them to find out.
Included in the March 1 issue of the e-Letter are tools for local council development staff members to use to develop fundraising strategies during this time. This e-Letter issue also provides information about the AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising Course at the 2013 National Development and Fiscal Management Symposium, where participants have the opportunity to earn CFRE International certification credits. Information on preparing IRS Form 990, pertinent information regarding printing checks in PeopleSoft, the updated Eagle Scout database available to councils, Friends of Scouting benchmarks, and the list of webinars are all available in the March 1 issue of the e-Letter.
